This point cloud animation was created using Blender, by 3D scanning a Spondylus shell—an object of both natural beauty and deep cultural significance to the pre-colonial civilizations of Ecuador. My goal was to faithfully capture its organic forms and colors while introducing a controlled distortion loop to enhance its visual narrative. The process involved 3D photogrammetry for accurate scanning, followed by extensive work in Blender utilizing geometry nodes, custom shading techniques, and precise final rendering.
